Teaching Methodology

A well-defined curriculum is delivered using the most effective instructional methods. Teachers adapt and innovate with the most stimulating teaching methods to achieve scholastic excellence and holistic student growth.

St. Andrews maintains a deliberate and careful balance of traditional and innovative teaching methods, which are as follows:

  • Organize and plan scholastic and co-scholastic activities
  • Guide students through a learning experience that gives them the scope to evolve into confident individuals
  • Document the progress of students Involve parents in the student development programs
  • Update and equip students with the tools and know-how for comprehensive and proactive learning

Learning Methodology

Learners participate in a process that is not only stimulating but also allows them to explore the known and unexplored realms of the subject matter. Learning is query-based where students question, brainstorm, and understand textbook content by exploration.

Homework is an important part of the education of our students. Staff and parents are jointly responsible for this part of their education. Teachers plan tasks that support, enrich, and reinforce classroom learning.

In addition to the traditional subjects of languages, mathematics, science, and social studies, students regularly attend scheduled classes in art, music, physical education, and computers.

Activity Based Learning

At St. Andrews, the curriculum is designed to move beyond traditional lectures, emphasizing

  • Hands-on experiences
  • Real-world applications
  • Interactive projects,
  • Science experiments,
  • Field trips, and
  • Collaborative group work.

Teachers at St. Andrews act as facilitators, guiding students through activities that encourage exploration and active participation. This approach not only enhances academic understanding but also instills essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and independent learning.

Support for Learning

The Department of Supportive Education at St. Andrews School aids children with learning disabilities by providing tailored academic, social, and emotional support. It designs individualized plans based on each student’s unique strengths and needs, focusing on personalized learning beyond traditional classrooms. Additionally, St. Andrews has established Akira, an independent learning center for children with dyslexia, to further support these learners.
